Dental Implant Rescue – Case Report 2

The Titanium implant surface shows through the tissue and bone as a dark shadow. This occurs when the implant is placed buccally or an osseous dehiscience occurs. Gingival Graft Microsurgery can change the gingival bio-type increasing the tissue thickness to mask the metal shadow.

Before Microsurgery

This implant was placed bucally. The titanium was visible as a dark shadow. Recession is beginning but fortunately the abutment is well contoured and the crown fitted well.

After Microsurgery

Thin gingiva was agumented to cover the implant body and minor recession was corrected on both laterals. This procedure is very delicate and best done using a surgical microscope
